OS Sent To Jail Accused Of Bribery

Four thousand rupees cash, bank passbook and documents seized in the house


The Anti-Corruption Bureau, Ajmer Chowki, on Tuesday, produced the office superintendent of DRM Office Sahiram Meena, who was caught red-handed taking bribe, in the court on Wednesday. The court sent Meena to judicial custody for 15 days. On the other hand, in the search operation at Meena’s official residence and office till late Tuesday night, the ACB did not find anything except the passbook and documents of the bank account.

Additional Superintendent of Police (Ajmer Chowki) Satnam Singh said that OS Sahiram Meena of Divisional Railway Manager’s Office Ajmer was produced in the court. From where orders have been given to send them to judicial custody for 15 days. Singh said that Meena had demanded a bribe of one lakh rupees in the name of getting the colleague transferred to Ajmer Divisional Office. The accused had already taken a bribe of 40 thousand rupees whereas was continuously harassing the complainant for 60 thousand rupees. In the process of verification, the accused Sahiram agreed for 40 thousand rupees instead of 60 thousand. The complainant reached his office on the evening of 23 November with Rs 40,000 as bribe. Where the ACB team caught Sahiram red handed while taking the bribe amount.

Only 4 thousand rupees found at home

Inspector Meera Beniwal, who was in the second team of ACB, searched the railway residence of OS Sahiram Meena on Fraser Road. During the search, the ACB found many government documents, passbooks of bank accounts. Apart from this, cash of only Rs 4,000 was found at the house. Which was handed over to the family after the ACB team took it on record.

‘This is unionism’
During the court appearance and even after the appearance, there was no wrinkle on the face of OS Meena. He looked relaxed in the ACB barracks. When asked whether it is part of unionism. He said it didn’t matter.
